FLOATING HEADS

You’ve all seen this guy.

Just a head with no body.

Floats around the office or factory all day

With no arms, no legs, no stomach, no heart.

Knows precisely what to do, how to act

What to say, when to say it, and who to say it too.

Always confident.

But ask how he feels…

He’s lost.

You’ve seen that one, haven’t you?

Somewhere around age eight

Body went numb

From the neck down.

The school?

The church?

The parent?

The fear?

The desire?

Who knows why.

Somewhere on the path

The magic stopped.

Years go by

Maybe he’s a father

Or a grandfather now.

The ground opens up

And the head falls

BOOM !!

Flat on it’s ear!

Never fails.

You can bet on this

Very good odds.

If a head is very lucky,

And many heads aren’t,

When it falls

It lands in the heart.
